Front Rack Lunge
Also known as: barbell front rack lunge, dumbbell front lunge, weighted lunge, split squat, lower body strength
How to do the Front Rack Lunge
Setup: Hold a barbell in the front rack position across the shoulders. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart, core engaged.
Movement: Step forward with one leg and lower your back knee toward the floor until front thigh is parallel. Drive through the front heel to return to standing and repeat on the other leg.
Standards:
- Front thigh parallel to the ground at bottom
- Back knee near but not touching the floor
- Torso upright and stable
Focus Points: Keep front knee over toes, maintain core stability, control step and balance.
